Summer Camps for 500 children in Israel with life threatening illnesses, special needs and disabilities
Children in Israel have a 2-month summer holiday and most of them spend their holidays at summer day camps where they participate in activities and have fun with friends. Children with life threatening illnesses, special needs and disabilities often cannot attend mainstream summer camp programmes sponsored by local councils, activity centers or private programmes because of their need for specialist help.
Missing out on summer camp can be heartbreaking for these children, who already feel alienated from their friends. This also creates a burden for their parents who need to take time off work to look after them.
This summer in Israel, we aim to help 500 kids in need to participate in a specialized summer camp experience, so that they can have the same opportunities as their peers throughout the country.
The One United Nation Fund, represents a number of charitable organizations running specialized summer camps for kids with life threatening illnesses, special needs and disabilities as well as those living below the poverty line.
The cost towards sponsoring a child is only £140
